Jizo Bodhisattva is a much beloved figure in Japan, Korea and China. His role is to protect the weak and vulnerable with emphasis on women in childbirth, children and travelers. Jizo is also known to help those who are working with a karmic problem or physical affliction. Jizo’s qualities include unflagging optimism, fearlessness and gentleness.
This statue is made of a heavy lava stone, and would be wonderful for warmer weather outdoors, or anytime indoors. He measures 5.25" high.
