Kunzite is a pink to lilac variety of spodumene due to trace amounts of manganese. The prismatic pyroxene crystals of spodumene also contain lithium. Kunzite was discovered in 1902 and was named after George Frederick Kunz, Tiffany and Co's chief jeweler at the time and a noted mineralogist.
As a healing mineral it is good for opening the heart and as a balancer for the subtle bodies. Helps to get in touch with the higher self. Soothing and calming.
