Fulgerite Specimen

Fulgerite Specimen

These unusual natural formations get their name from 'fulgur', the Latin word for lightning. Damp sand conducts electricity, and when lightning strikes, the sand grains fuse to form a glass composed of nearly pure silicon dioxide.

Fulgurites have been found worldwide, but are relatively rare. Two types of fulgurites have been recognized: sand and rock fulgurites. Sand fulgurites are the most common and are generally found in beach or desert regions containing clean (free of fine-grained silt or clay), dry sand.

Fulgurite: Some call it the stone of light. Fulgurite is traditionally associated with divination, psychic powers, creativity, and manifestation. It also helps with dream recall and access to our Akashic records.

Each specimen was formed from lightening in the desert sands of Egypt. These are genuine pieces that come to us from a reputable mineral supplier. Each piece varies in length and width, no two are ever the same. They are approximately 2.5 cm to 3 cm long.
