USA Tarrifs / Canada Post Dispute

USA TARIFFS

For our USA customers - Additional fees may be owing for tariffs upon entry into the USA.  These fees, if applicable, are payable to the US Government on entry.  We are not in control of these fees.  In addition, carriers may charge a fee to you to collect these fees.  As of August 29, 2025 the de minimus exemption has ended.  Any and all packages will have duties and taxes on them upon arrival.  Any item with Steel, Aluminum or Copper may have a higher customs fee. 

We have simplified our shipping:

1. We have temporarily suspended Postal Orders - Currently Canada Post/USPS will not allow us to ship without prepaying duties.  

2. We have temporarily suspended all ground couriers - These services typically have a higher brokerage fee to collect the fees.

We are primarily using UPS 3-Day Select for our USA shipping at this time.  You will be responsible for the duties and tax on receipt.  We suggest paying using the link UPS sends you once shipped.   UPS 3 Day, Expedited, Express Saver and Express typically have no brokerage cost to you (you pay just the duties/taxes on arrival)

Additional costs will be levied against all returns that were returned to unpaid duties/taxes.  This may include shipping (there and back again), tariffs and processing fees.  We understand that these are difficult times for packages, and we ask you plan accordingly.

Oversized shipments may still need to go with UPS Standard.  We will let you know before that happens.

USA Territories - At this time these areas are being treated as "International" and will be quoted shipping once packed.

CANADA POST LABOUR DISPUTES

On Nov 21, Canada Post and the CUPW union have reached "an agreement on principle"  This means everything is running as per normal while they finalize their discussions.   No delays are expected at this time.

We have LOTS of couriers to choose from, including UPS, GLS, Purolator, Canpar, FedEx, and others.  Couriers are usually faster and lower cost than Canada Post.  We are once again using Canada Post where it makes sense, or when it is selected.  

Within Canada - We are shipping most orders with courier. You are free to choose any carrier you wish, including Canada Post.  Best Rate orders may ship with any carrier (courier or post) - when marked as [CP] is is more likely it will go by Canada Post, however almost all orders are still shipping by courier.

USA - Due to the USA Tariff issues, Orders are shipping by UPS.

International - We will provide  you with all your options, as usual.
