Staurolite Specimen

This naturally occuring mineral is also known as "Fairy Stone" or "Lucky Cross". These specimens consist of twinned staurolite crystals simulating a cross on a matrix.

Staurolite is one of the index minerals that are used to estimate the temperature, depth and pressure at which a rock undergoes metamorphism.

It is believed that these crosses protect the bearer against witchcraft, sickness, accidents and disasters of all kinds.

We rarely have these in stock. They aren't a common offering. They were found in Scotland and fairly traded, ethically sourced.

Each piece is unique, and most measure 4 to 4.5 cm. Sold in singles.
