Corundum, Tumbled
Corundum is a mineral that is the hardest known natural substance after the diamond. It is clear in its natural state and with impurities cause the coloring of these amazing stones. Corundum may assist with wisdom, choices, releasing anger, negative thoughts, enhancing intuition, and insight into the unknown. Corundum Ruby resonates with the Root Chakra, as well as the Heart Chakra.
When corundum is being formed in the rock, other elements and minerals will invade the corundum and influence its coloring. The amount of color saturation and the color itself will vary depending on the amount of the other mineral. A corundum ruby is created when chromium or Cr is admitted into the corundum.
When Corundum is red, it is considered Ruby. When it is blue, it is considered Sapphire.
Each polished piece is totally unique and measure approximately 20 mm to 25 mm. Some are of the Ruby variety, some are of the Sapphire variety. They range in depth of colour and shimmer. We'll choose one just for you.
