It is a rare purple stone with a pearly luster and comes in colors from violet to darker purple with swirls on the surface. It is becoming rare and hard to find. We rarely have it in stock anymore. Pieces of this precious purple gem are few and far between and as it was discovered at a unique geological formation known as a Mastiff, the odds are that big deposits of this stone may not be seen again. While it was found by the Chara River, the name may also be a nod to the Russian word for magic charm, which is exactly what you get when you hold tight to a piece of Charoite.
