Sunstone is a member of the feldspar family, specifically the plagioclase variety. Its warm peach, orange, and golden tones were formed within molten lava and shimmer with tiny mineral inclusions such as hematite, goethite, pyrite, or copper. This sparkling optical phenomenon is known as aventurescence, creating the stone's signature radiant glow. Sunstone is closely related to Labradorite and Moonstone, which are also prized for their beautiful light effects.
