Obelisks have long been regarded as symbols of protection, strength, stability, and spiritual focus. Crystal points are believed to direct and amplify energy through their apex, making them wonderful tools for meditation, intention setting, or energy work. They also make a striking statement piece, whether displayed on their own or as part of a crystal collection.
Selenite takes its name from the Greek goddess of the Moon, Selene, although it contains no significant selenium. This variety, known as Satin Spar, is a fibrous form of crystallized gypsum. Other forms of gypsum include alabaster, desert rose, gypsum flower, ram's horn, and sand gypsum. While technically different minerals, Satin Spar is commonly referred to as selenite.
In the metaphysical tradition, selenite is treasured for its gentle, luminous energy. It is believed to promote mental clarity, inner peace, and a deeper connection to higher consciousness. One of its most celebrated qualities is its reputation for continuously clearing and renewing energy, meaning it is traditionally considered a crystal that does not require energetic cleansing. It is also said to support the body's natural healing processes, encourage flexibility, and promote overall energetic balance.
The engraved moon phases represent the ever-changing lunar cycle, with each phase symbolizing a different stage of growth, transformation, and renewal. Throughout history, the Moon has guided our understanding of time, influenced the tides, and illuminated the night sky. It is often associated with feminine energy, intuition, wisdom, cycles of life, death, rebirth, and spiritual connection.
