Selenite, Pure - Specimen B
This is the natural variety of clear Selenite (not
the more common white Satin Spar variety). Selenite is a fibrous and
crystallized form of gypsum which form through evaporation within alkaline
water beds, salt springs and caves. The name Selenite derives from the Greek
Goddess of the Moon - Selene. Selenite is popular for purification, soothing
nerves, balancing emotions and boosting empathy. It is also used for
amplification of cleansing of other crystals and minerals placed beside or
gently on top. Gypsum appears to be much like Mica, but it is not the same. But
it does flake and break very easily, much like Mica.
NOTE: If there are small bits that have fallen off the specimen during the shipping process, that is something we simply cannot avoid due to the nature of this mineral. Please handle with care. Do not place Selenite in water or near it. Please keep it dry and in a place where other crystals, gemstones and pieces of decor do not rub against it. Do not place anything heavy on top of the specimen. Raw Selenite of this nature is meant more for display and admiration than it is for holding and handling.
This specimen measures 14 cm long x 6.5 cm wide x 1 cm thick. This is the exact specimen you will receive.
