Lapis Lazuli Point Specimen

These beautiful specimens of Lapis Lazuli are cut base, top polish - which means the mineral retains its natural shape and form, with only the point polished to reveal a smooth, lustrous finish. Crystal points are traditionally used to direct energy through the apex, or tip, of the crystal.

The primary mineral in lapis lazuli is lazurite, although natural lapis commonly contains other minerals, including calcite, pyrite, and sodalite. Ground lapis was historically the source of the brilliant blue pigment ultramarine, prized by artists for centuries to depict the sea, sky, and other vivid blue details. Natural ultramarine remained one of the most valuable blue pigments until the development of synthetic alternatives in the 19th century.

Lapis lazuli has long been valued not only for its striking blue color but also for its traditional metaphysical associations. It is used by some as a protective and grounding stone, believed to encourage a deep connection with the Earth and the spirits of nature.
