Black Moonstone Free Form - A

These smooth, highly polished semi-precious stones are formed into a sculptural shape to allow the beauty of the stone to be revealed. These pieces come to us from Tucson gem show, through our Canadian supplier. These pieces were mined ethically in Madagascar. 

This variety of alkali feldspar is of the orthoclase variety. As magma gradually cools, albite within the mineral forms alternating layers which create a shimmering glow known as adularescence - which is hard to capture in photos, but trust us - it's gorgeous! 

Moonstone occurs within igneous rocks such as pegmatite and granite.
