Gem Animal: Brontosaurus
The likeness of a brontosaurus has been hand carved from onyx marble by
Peruvian artisans. Prehistoric stone animals fit easily into gift
baskets and shadow boxes and are fun to create a scene when put in
plants, in the window or a Zen garden.
Onyx is a banded variety
of chalcedony. The colors of its bands range from white to almost every
color (save some shades, such as purple or blue). Commonly, specimens
of onyx contain bands of black and/or white. Onyx is thought to increase
regeneration, happiness, intuition and instincts.
The
brontosaurus was a herbivorous dinosaur that lived in the late Jurassic
period. This large, long-necked creature lived in what we know today as
the United States.
Approx. 3 cm in height x 3.5 cm long.
