Celtic Goddess Brigid Statue

Celtic Goddess Brigid Statue

Brigid (Breo, Brid, Brighid, Brigindo, Brigandu, Brigan, Brigantia, Brigantis, Bride, or "The Fiery Arrow". She represents the Celtic three-fold Goddess, the daughter of The Dagdha. She represents the Fire Of Inspiration, healing and fertility, and patroness of smithcraft and martial arts.

Brigid's festival is Imbolc, celebrated on or around Feb 1 when she ushers Spring to the land after Winter's reign. This mid-Winter festival commences as the ewes begin to prepare for babies born, and the start of the new agricultural cycle begins. During this time, Brigid personifies a bride, or the maiden aspect and is the protectoress of women in childbirth.  Imbolc is also known as Oimelc, Brigid, Candlemas, or even as the American Groundhog Day.

Based on the art of Maxine Miller, this beautiful wood-look resin statue measures H. 10.75" x  L. 7.75" x W. 5.75"
