The likeness of each animal has been carved by hand from onyx marble by Peruvian artisans. Stone animals fit easily into gift baskets and shadow boxes and are attractive when put in plants, in the window or a Zen garden.
Animals measure approximately 1.5", but vary depending on the animal.
Onyx is a banded variety of chalcedony. The colors of its bands range from white to almost every color (save some shades, such as purple or blue). Commonly, specimens of onyx contain bands of black and/or white. Onyx is thought to increase regeneration, happiness, intuition and instincts.
