The Griffin descended from the famous composites of Babylon and Persia; winged, eagle headed, goat-bearded & lion-bodied. As the symbol of the seasons the Griffin became the guardian of the sun, of the Golden Apples, of the jewels and the stars along with all other celestial phenomena. Griffins are often found in legends as the guardian of treasure.
“Myths can be seen as eternal truths that challenge and expand our imagination. A symbol is a mediator of wisdom; it conveys more than the eye perceives.”
